Tayler concentrates her legal practice in the areas of general liability, business litigation, medical professional liability and workers’ compensation. She has experience handling all aspects of the litigation process, from pleadings and motions to discovery and depositions, as well as assisting with trial preparation.
Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Tayler was an attorney at a mid-sized maritime law firm in Chicago where she litigated in federal court on behalf of employer and insurance carrier clients for claims brought under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extension to the Defense Base Act.
While earning her law degree at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Tayler was executive symposium editor for the School’s Journal of Law and Social Equality. She also was elected to the Executive Board as the events and communications manager for the school’s Business & Law Society. Previously, Tayler was a legal extern at a large litigation firm in Warsaw, Poland where she assisted with high-profile transactions and dispute resolutions between multimillion-dollar international companies. In her spare time, she volunteered at the Protective Order Project where she provided legal assistance and supported victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking by filing protective orders with the court.
Practices
- Obtained dismissal with prejudice in a case wherein Plaintiff filed a complaint claiming that our insurance broker client negligently procured a commercial general liability policy for a gymnastics facility, that later denied medical coverage for Plaintiff’s injury sustained at the facility; the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court agreed with our attorneys arguments that there was no existing relationship between Plaintiff and our client that would impose any duty on our client, and that Plaintiff was never an intended beneficiary of the policy and the claims were time barred under Section 13/214.4 of the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure.
