New York City Counsel Recognized in New York Law School Article

New York Counsel Dana M. Catanzaro was featured in a New York Law School post, “Spotlight on Alumnae Who Lead Local Bar Associations,” as a part of the law school’s ongoing Women’s History Month coverage. The piece was posted on the law school’s website on Tuesday, March 30, and highlights alumnae who lead local bar associations. Dana is recognized for her role as president of the Columbian Lawyers Association, First Judicial Department, an association comprising jurists, practicing attorneys and law students celebrating Italian culture, innovation and achievements. The association also provides continuing legal education for bar members and supports law students through academic scholarships.

New York Law School is an independent law school located in Tribeca at the center of New York City’s legal, government, financial and emerging tech centers. Founded in 1891, the school is one of the largest and oldest independent nonprofit law schools in the United States and operates under a charter granted by the Board of Regents of the State of New York. The school is fully approved by the American Bar Association through its Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. New York Law School’s curriculum is registered with and approved by the New York State Education Department.

Dana focuses her practice on the defense of construction accident and property damage claims, and has extensive experience handling negligence-based lawsuits, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and medical malpractice, and insurance matters. She also is a proud member of Litchfield Cavo’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In addition to her law practice, she is the current president of the Columbian Lawyers Association, First Judicial Department; an active member of New York City Bar Association, City Bar Chorus Committee; National Organization of Italian American Women; Catholic Lawyers Guild of Kings County; Defense Association of New York and presently serves on the executive committee of the Lexington Democratic Club. Dana also is a volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, New York City Chapter, and is a member of the foundation’s Advocacy Committee.
