Illinois Partner to be Panelist at DRI Insurance Coverage Symposium

Chicago Partner Daniel G. Litchfield will be a panelist at the 2023 DRI Insurance Coverage and Practice Symposium, taking place November 29–December 1 in New York City. During the session, “A Look Back at the COVID Fight…Into the Future,” Dan and another panelist will share insurance industry outcomes related to first-party property coverage for COVID-19 claims, and lawsuits and insights about coverage litigation drawn from waves of that litigation stretching back to the environmental coverage litigation of the 1980s and 1990s. Joining Dan on the panel is Christopher G. Daniels, Divisional Assistant Vice President, Great American Insurance Group.

DRI’s Insurance Coverage and Practice Symposium is a leading educational and networking event for executives, claims professionals and outside counsel who specialize in insurance coverage. This year’s symposium offers attendees the opportunity to engage with insurance leaders and coverage attorneys to discuss emerging and cutting-edge industry issues.

Dan has been extensively involved in litigation involving first-party property insurance coverage sought by businesses that lost money during the coronavirus pandemic. He was the first attorney to argue such a case in a federal appellate court, and the first to jury try such a case. Dan leads a team of more than 20 Litchfield Cavo LLP attorneys who have handled over 300 coronavirus property coverage cases in multiple federal courts and 27 state courts.
