Representative Experience

  • Favorably defended defendant emergency medicine physician in a medical malpractice wrongful death case wherein patient was a 67 year old male who had presented to a hospital emergency department complaining of chest pain. Our client evaluated the patient and discharged him, though 12 hours later while at home the patient later had a cardiac arrest and called EMS, but died before being transferred back to the hospital. The jury found in favor of the defendant physician and no damages were awarded. (no cause)
  • Favorably defended an emergency medicine physician in a medical malpractice personal injury case wherein Plaintiff patient was 19 years old when she presented to the hospital emergency department complaining of sudden onset of severe low back pain. She was evaluated and treated by our client, an MRI was obtained, and she was discharged home, with instructions for follow up with a neurosurgeon. The patient developed cauda equina syndrome two days later, and despite surgery, suffered permanent neurologic injuries. Plaintiff asked for $13 million in damages at trial, but jury found no breach of the standard or care and awarded nothing. (no cause)
  • Favorably defended internal medicine physician who was the attending physician and facility’s medical director in a medical malpractice wrongful death case wherein the patient was an 82 year old woman in a long term acute care facility where there was a medication error at the facility. Patient died approximately 8 days after she was admitted. Plaintiffs asked for $2.5 million in damages at trial but the jury returned a verdict in our client’s favor awarding nothing. (no cause)
